offers and letters

hi folks

I see all your posts of offers and letters which denotes the type of booking, but i find nowhere that gives you the choice of grade of letter it appears to be what is given.
Also, I have looked at offers and see no difference with the prices I looked at last week.

Can some one tell me how to find offers.. mainly for Canada and US

thanks

I must be stupid - I can’t find how to get one of these 2 for £2018 flights. Are they just one way or return. How do you find them on the web site which seems to be steadily getting more difficult to use.

I believe the fare rules exclude the return dates for you, so you won't see any with return leg 1st to 7th January.

I believe the fare rules allow returns to 10th January...

Avis 5,000 Avios offer

Similar experience pricing Avis ex MAN.. I was pricing a 3 day hire for late November last night. Overnight all the cars in Group C+ have increased by £10-20. The A's & B's are the same. Cheapish way of buying 4,000+ Avios but..... Not overly unhappy because I also got a seemingly targeted offer to hire once more in 2018 and get a free weekend hire in 2019.

Also noting that Avis BA prices are lower than the same quote from my Avis Preferred Plus account after the 5% discount I get!

mchc01, welcome to Flyertalk. I'm sure an ambassador will be engaging soon to officially welcome you.

For the post you quoted, the best place to get explanations is to visit the Forum Dashboard - BA Forum Dashboard - and especially the forum glossary at BA Forum Glossary

To translate the post you commented on - Beaulieu is traveling to San Diego (SAN) and returning via San Jose, California (SJC).
He upgraded to First class using a "Joker", which allows Gold Guest List members the ability to force availability of an upgrade, then a Gold Upgrade for 2 (GUF2), which is a voucher allowing upgrades for two passengers. Apparently the pair were booked in Economy and upgraded to First.

This forum is very dense with abbreviations that the dashboard and glossary will help with.

Thank you!
I actually reserved these for 72 hours last night with the hope other/cheaper locations might arise.

Am I too hopeful?

I need 260 TP by 23/01 (that includes a 2 week extension on my points year!). Want something is quick (i.e. ideally one leg out, one leg back either immediately or max overnight) from London. Any ideas? Tel Aviv looks a possible at £1,262 over 12/01. Any other ideas?

TIA

Looking at MIA from ABZ for mid January, outbound in CW, inbound in WT+ for around £860.

Do you folks think that waiting for the big sale around Christmas would produce a much better deal, or should I grab it now?

ex-DUB to HEL is like 240 in J.... you could do LHR - AMS - HEL - LHR or something like that for 260 would be half the price of tel aviv.... but if you just want one leg then you can pretty much do anything you like, NYC is a good option too probably much cheaper

Ok. Can you explain why the following fare rule includes those dates, because I read it as 24-31 dec, 8-10 jan? Which does not include 1-7th of January.

"inbound - permitted 24dec18 through 31dec18 or 08jan19 through 10jan19 for each transatlantic sector"

That was my understanding too, you can't fly back between 1st and 7th Jan. It's pretty clear when going through the booking screens that the return prices jump on 1st Jan and drop again on the 8th.

I forgot to add, if I go for this and add a car, does the WT+ (T class) drop down into a fare class that cannot be UUA?

Thanks.
