PW, keep up the fight. At least you don't have to deal with the insanity that are medical bills/fighting between the hospital and insurance companies that my family has had to deal with after Mum was diagnosed with a cancer so rare that you have better odds of winning the National Powerball Lottery.....good news is that she made it through. With luck, you can do the same.

Happily, my treatments are being scheduled between forthcoming l/h holiday trips, and as yet no inhibition on flying. Indeed, I'm being flown to UK for specialist treatment!

Update:

My osimertinib treatment has seen the cancer become resistant again. Currently going through old fashioned chemotherapy. Next stop might be a drug trial. More likely I'll check out for the final time before the year is out, never having used my BA Silver Status.

I have set up a funding page to support the Roy Castle Lung Foundation. They reported this week how little money gets spent on lung cancer research compared to other forms of the nasty disease. Feel free to make any contribution you wish, large or small, via the link below.

My father (also a non-smoker) was diagnosed with stage 4 LC in 2013 and died a year and 9 days ago, after Nivolumab as second line was unsuccessful (I wish he'd been able to have osmertinib). As you say, it's shocking how little is spent on LC, when it's such a terrible disease and usually diagnosed too late. I hope that the chemo is a success and that there is a drug trial that you can take part in - the world relies on brave souls like you to trial drugs that will hopefully benefit others. Your travel adventures have been great fun to read, so keep them in your mind!

Keep fighting and keep living... thinking of you. My mother has stage 4 bowel cancer having had her bowel removed a couple of years ago. Wishing you all the best

The only reason that I have not clicked like, is that I do not like your news but wish you Bon Courage in your treatment - I too heard that report that you heard. I was staggered to learn that 40% Lung Cancer patients have never ever smoked. Those of us who gave up - in my own case many years ago thought that the possibility was low. My thoughts are with you.

My daughter-in-law lost a lung to cancer when she was c. 20. Non-smoker, and none in the family either. It's a horribly random disease, wherever it erupts.
