"Long" walk? it's 400 metres to T5B, and there are 4 walkways if that is too strenuous!
Strictly speaking it's 35 minutes timed from the scanner after the last BA staff pulpit but before the security area. I'd give it 40 minutes at least. After emerging from security it's about 18 minutes to T5B using the passageways, so 40 minutes gives a fair bit of contingency. They can close the gate at T5B 20 minutes before departure, though if it's not a bus gate it's usually open to about 15 minutes before departure.

- I guess I have 45 min in total to reach T5B from the moment they open the door of my inbound, assuming it's on time (I'm in row 1 so first out).
- From Gate A23 to get out I would give it 15 min depending on how busy customs are (my British passport never works at the barriers but that's a different story).
- To get back inside and clear security using the Gold Wing I would accrue further 10-15 min, again depending on how busy they are.
- This leaves me with 15 min until they close my connecting flight gate - which would be less than the 18 minutes you are mentioning to reach T5B.
Based on the above I think that's a bit of a risk.....

Thanks c-w-s - ok - let's do the maths:

Passports from Dublin? You're doing something wrong here, it's just a walk out to arrivals and up to the First Wing. If it takes more than 5 minutes you've gone to Flight Connections instead (and still no passports). Or the UK Border (quite unnecessary). So let's say 10 minutes to get to the First Wing, 40 minutes from there = 10 minute smoke break.
Sorry c-w-s - stupid me, no passports, I completely forgot

I would be more worried about your bags not making such a tight connection. Cause mine didn't make it that trip.

I once had around 45-50 minutes between opening the doors, arriving from AMS, and my next flight to DFW (so T5B or C, can't remember which one), and I was halfway the plane in economy so definitely not first to be off the plane. But I made my flight, although I talked myself into fast track showing the tight connection and I had to run through the terminal.

No worries about bags as travelling HBO

As an additional data point, we had a "premium transfer service" a couple of weeks ago which was very slick:
Domestic to Europe connection
Club Europe
2 adult golds plus infant
First flight delayed due to technical issues
We got a message from the cabin crew as we were approaching LHR that a car would be waiting for us at the gate. We were ushered off the aircraft before anyone else (admittedly from row 1) and met by a transfer person who took us downstairs and into a Mercedes people carrier. We were driven from the gate (at T5A) to T3 and taken into an airside area, and escorted to the BA lounge in T3.
It all felt very premium and slick, and was a lot nicer than the usual transfer bus! Probably stopped us missing our connection, or at least from having a mad rush.
Sad I missed out on Cathay First but BA does have a better play area for the child... (CX doesn't have one at all)
😁
Edit to add: we had about 2hrs 45m connection as booked and the delayed first flight / slightly delayed second flight reduced that to approx 1hr if I recall correctly
