Where to earn miles 2017-18?

I just looked at the fine print on my EC page and noticed that I was awarded GGL for an additional year. Fearing it was a misprint I called BAEC and it was confirmed that it was because I flew over the infamous bank holiday weekend (never mind I left from LCY Friday morning before the troubles, HBO) my status was extended by 12 months.

However, it got me to thinking that without GGL to aim for in 2017-18 (my year starts in September) where should I be aiming to credit miles and achieve status? Or even concentrate my LH travel. Typically I plan on renewing GGL at 3000 points as I do appreciate the space release and the ability to cancel and credit all of my unneeded bookings.

Is there is a chart listing the arbitrage between OW airlines both in earning and redeeming miles? For example, my first flight in the "new year" is F on MH to KUL and I don't know if I should credit it to BA, IB, AA or anyone else. I recognize that often crediting it to the operating airline is often best, but being able to use those miles can be difficult.

A couple of notes:
- I have plenty of Amex points to transfer to BAEC to top up miles whereever necessary
- I realize I will miss out on GUF2s & CCR card.
- I also will have *A gold within a couple of days - lots of trips to Central Europe this year. So I could even "go rogue" with my long haul travel.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for consideration.

The grass in not always greener on the other side

I am not aware of any earn to burn comparison. Very much depend on your flying pattern, class of travel, short-long haul, price paid, ff miles expiry and more.
www.wheretocredit.com/mh/f for redeemable ff miles. Calculating status earn is much harder
And what your objective is from a ffp.

Which ffp:-

Freq Flyer Award assistance tools
Use at your own risk. (These are not recommendations)
These links give a guide of ff miles needed. These may not be up to date.

There is an argument for picking a redemption target and working backwards. If you want Oz, for eg, AA is cheaper and lets you use multiple flights for the same price. Perhaps Qatar is cheaper? Or RJ?

You then look at Earn rates for the ticket types you fly, so you are comparing like with like - eg the number of J returns to NYC in full fare J needed to get 1 F seat to Oz.

An extra quirk is partners. If I were in your shoes, crediting to AA to access Etihad redemptions would interest me.

Just out of interest - will you still be able to book Etihad with AA miles after 24 March 2018 when AA ends its code-share agreement with the carrier?
