Stats [number of members in each BAEC level]

Are there any stats for how many Gold, GGL and GGL Lifetime members there are. Was waiting to board the other day and a couple of guys ahead of me in the queue were talking and said the numbers were a closely guarded secret. Just wondered if that really was the case? Thanks.

Saw some unofficial numbers quoted on here recently, think GGL was something like 2,500 but I think it would be far far more than that.

CCR is around 400
GGL is between 5,000-7,000 members, but dropping
Gold is, I believe, around 75,000
Not sure about lifetime numbers

This is a query which gets asked about every 6 months or so.

Estimates vary between 60,000 to 90k+ for golds. Sobering if you think that as a Gold BA cares about you.

I just can't believe of the millions of passengers, and thousands of very regular corporate customers that only 400 fly 12F returns or 18J a year. Or a mix when chuck in some CE and maybe other OW flights...

I wonder if the Forum peddles this lower number to make those CCR members feel more exclusive.

I'd imagine CCR to be in the 1,000s

Perhaps Prem in the 100s

Whilst we're asking related questions I'd be interested to know how many GGL4Ls there are?

Remarkably, it always seems to coincide with a BA systems outage...

The numbers seem to decline each time, too

Yes, I suspect you are right. I find it hard to believe the delta between CCR and GGLs. I guess there will be a few who were on the 3000tp over multiple years entry and that will drop off but it seems like a significant gap to me.

Slightly more than that, it was about 520-550 for a while but has just recently dropped below 500 again I believe, to about 480/490 now.

If 400-500 is correct, then i'd be more interested to know what % feature on this board

It's got to be 25% + !!

My understanding was that the number of Premier card holders is roughly 3X the number of GGL+CCR card holders. Premiers on average don't actually fly as frequently as CCL+CCR or even most GGL members.

I would suspect that there will be a larger number of CCR holders who only get it for a year than longer term holders, due to a not insignificant number who need GGL but don't normally get 5000 TPs a year. I cannot imagine I am the only one who 'stretched' one years travel with TP runs in order to get GGL after they stopped the 'twice 3000' entry. Mind you, quite unexpectedly I am going to hit 5000 this year as well ... but significantly short of 6000, which is a bit of a shame really.

Well our BAEC HHA is currently three Gold and four Silver.

No wonder I sometimes can't get a seat in my own lounge.
