Reason for BA173 4-hour Delay?

Booked on BA172 later this evening and the positioning 173 has left 4 hours late.

Partially due to curiosity and partially to try and pre-empt any issues this evening, can anyone confirm why 172 left that late? A/C gone tech, late-notice equipment change, etc?

Also, the current ETA for 173 is 19:00 with 172 departing at 20:45 - is 1 hour 45 minutes enough to turn a 747 around? All sources state 172 is on-time, but that may be awaiting official confirmation of 173's lateness.

Thanks very much - still a 744 I take it (FR24 shows G-BYGA)?

That's correct, it shows a 2 hour turnaround.
The aircraft change was due to the the original having a technical fault.
