I once arrived on a plane inbound to LHR T1 but somehow exited thru T2. Fortunately HBO only. Not sure if this was possible for an extended period, or just temporarily during renovation works...? Long while ago now.

Even travelling HBO isn't a guarantee, was doing a GVA b2b last month with a backpack and upon arrival into GVA, said thanks to the lovely crew and was half way up the air bridge when I remembered I was missing something. As I reappeared at the cabin door the crew member was laughing saying 'I thought I remembered you had a backpack', the pilot, who was standing in the cockpit door saying goodbye to people, had a look of 'who's this numpty'. Thankfully he didn't notice me reboard and sit in exactly the same seat for the return flight!

T1 was connected to both the original T2 and also the new one. Therefore if you arrived at certain gates it was possible to exit via either terminal. Before T2 opened some of the gates on the T2B satellite were used by T1, I remember landing on a bmi flight on that satellite (and bmi ceased to exist before T2 opened). Once T2 opened there was a link in the departures hall to T1 and also in the arrivals stream.

I think it may be the thread about signs that you fly too much that contains the post with the best definition of being zonked after a flight: standing at the belt watching your bag go around multiple times, without realising that it's actually your bag.

last year EDI-LHR - checked in my bag @ EDI, realised whilst I was sitting on the HEX (not yet moving) that I had no luggage.
Didn't actually take too long to get it back, although there was a form to fill out to get back airside.
I did something similar the first time I flew into CDG - following the signs to reclaim and found myself landside. No forms to fill in there though, the chap I spoke to got the doors opened for me and let me go back in.

Not wrong belt, but one of life's mysteries (and frustrations) - why do people waiting at a luggage carousel insist on crowding close to the belt with trolleys making it nigh impossible to get to your case when it arrives? Herd mentality perhaps? Answers on a postcard, please.
I suggest a red line on the floor set some 3 metres from the carousel forming a trolley exclusion zone to allow easier access and less of a luggage scrum.

I once inadvertently led a flight full of DUB-LHR passengers to the wrong carousel in the late evening. Same issue of two flights at roughly the same time. I was first off the plane and everyone followed me. After 15 minutes someone stopped by our carousel to tell us that all of our bags were waiting on another carousel!

Hasn't directly happened to me, but I was once on a flight in F from JFK sat across the aisle from Gordon Ramsay. On arrival at T5 I duly fetched my case from the carousel and headed for the exit. Our esteemed chef/TV presenter was stood by a different carousel evidently waiting for a bag that was never going to come. I darted over and put him right. Can happen to the best/worst of us
On reflection it's possible he was distracted about not having had a special services escort from the plane (on landing he made it clear to the Cabin Crew that he was expecting it).
I suppose this could have fitted nicely into both the DYKWIA and Celebs on BA threads.

I too have nearly left my suitcase - doing multiple day trip hops around Europe you soon get used to skipping that part, luckily I was with a friend!
