Question How is BA dealing with electronics ban?

I have an upcoming flight from LAX to AMM RT via LHR in CW. I would appreciate any insight on how BA is dealing with the electronics ban- specifically:
- Are they doing thorough security checks at gate in AMM?
- Any chance to securely gate check laptops like EY and TK are doing?
- Is it possible to check laptop from Amman to London and claim it for onward journey to LAX?

I received unhelpful and conflicting information from Gold Phone line. They insisted that the ban applies to AND from U.K. - which seems incorrect. Couldn't find any thread on this here either.

BAs own website is very clear the restrictions are only on flights FROM Jordan.

Restrictions are from stations affected only. No sure why the gold line would state ex UK also affected, it is not.

No BA are not offering a checked service for laptops. We still treat the IATA DGRs the same as before.
