2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

Missed a POUG for LIN to LHR. J is 6 (was 8).

i know a crystal ball is needed in such cases but might the POUG return if no more J seats are sold on the day of travel?

Thanks for any guesses or past experience.

Thank you.

If I have a multi-city booking say JFK-LON-JER, LON-JFK would this affect my ability to POUG on any of the legs? Not sure if this falls into the "more complex routings" as highlighted in the Wiki post.

Depending on the precise fare buckets, it probably rules out a POUG. You also generally need to buy the fare in a single neat transaction on BA.com and I'm not sure if that happened here. AUP is still OK however.

LHR - ARN showing £129 for months. Flight is in less than 10 days time and I9 is showing. Does the POUG price ever drop a few days before departure or at online checkin?

Hi has anyone had any luck on split segments (non connecting) on same booking i.e LHR to PHL and return LAX - LHR?
I'm doing that routing next Month and curious?

I have a feeling this may apply to my question as well but if anyone has any thoughts! Thanks

I believe that is a "no go" unfortunately, that's an implied surface sector which normally rules out POUGs.

LHR-MAD for April 2018 travel: £159 per person.

Hmm, let me just think about that for about one tenth of a second.

LHR - CDG £99 (accepted because I need the TP to bounce me up to silver further down the line for QR lounge access)

Can't edit the wiki yet.

Interesting - just on MMB, checking in for tomorrow morning's BA456 LHR >> MAD and I am offered, for the first time since I don't know when (ie easily a few years), a POUG (EUR 169 for anyone curious).

Is this likely to be in any way related to the fact that EC finally sorted out my missing TPs and I now show as Gold again? As of about an hour ago? Things that make ya go 'hmmmmmmm' (and btw BA as I can see from EF that there are no window seats left in CE that's gonna have to be a 'no' from me on this occasion, especially right at the end of my TP year having just collapsed over the line this time like an unprepared club runner in the London Marathon)

Just curious if the two are related. Seems pretty likely.

Would have been difficult to justify even before the CE catering changes were introduced, but now that MAD is on the Pannini/Toastie rotation it's a no brainer unless you are desperate for TP's.

To be fair when I looked at how rammed that flight is tomorrow I did in fact consider it - for said tenth of a second, but seriously for that tenth ;-)

But when CE is no quieter than ET I just can't see the justification myself.

On a related note, my trip back to LHR last time was IB metal and I had their BOB toastie and I thought it wasn't that bad.

Does seem slightly improved and now seems fresher than before. From a LHR-MAD sector I had over the weekend.
