2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

LHR-FCO £139 ET-CE. It was £199 48 hours after booking then went away. This is flying on Easter Monday. Is it likely to drop any further? I'm 20TP short for Silver this year, I'll jump if it gets closer to £100.

(Could someone update the wiki for me please?)

LHR->ATH May 2017 (party of 4 adults)

Weird results

Advertised POUG as £179

Click through with just outbound selected for upgrade. Apology message that it's sold out since being advertised, but shown available as £154pp (£616 total).

Click through with just inbound selected for upgrade (same apology message) price shown as £179pp (£716 total)

Click through with both inbound and outbound selected for upgrade - same message - but price shown is £598pp (£2392)! £265pp more expensive than adding the two legs together.

I don't think my colleagues will go for it anyway...but if they were to, could I purchase the outbound and then expect the POUG to be still on offer so I can purchase the inbound separately?

I have an upcoming trip booked LHR-IAH roundtrip in WT via a travel agency. Are upgrades from WT to Business ever offered at OLCI? Or can I ask at airport?

POUG may be offered at OLCI, but usually only one class, so you may be offered one from WT to WTP.

In the event that you are not offered a POUG when you check in online, you can certainly ask at the airport for the cost to upgrade. Here is the link to the AUP thread, which may be useful.

MSY-LHR WTP to CW at £549

Can't decide if that means empty CW or busy WTP...

LHR>ARN for Oct flight, POUG offered at £100 a few days after initial booking before dropping to £89. Validates what's in the Wiki.

Flew LHR-GLA yesterday. Until Monday, upgrade cost was £338 from ET-CE. From Tuesday, every time I tried to cost up an upgrade, it came back with an error and just said, "cancel and exit upgrade," with no more information on the page than that. Never saw any POUG offers since I made the booking. Shame as I could see through EF that there were four spare seats in CE once checkin had closed. Perhaps I should have asked at the airport?

EDI - LHR for £65 on the 767 flight on Friday. Accepted, however had to be done through the call centre as error message popping up when I tried to to it online/through the app.

KEF remains a bugbear of mine

always pops up on the app for £239. Has anyone ever seen this route at a price more in keeping with similar length routes?

Thinking to book a WTP SIN-LHR-AMS VV in July/August. 2 PAX. (1 gold, 1 silver).

Expedia is about SGD 200 cheaper than BA direct.

If I read the wiki right, I would not see any POUG for this itinerary right as it is a connecting flight?

Also if I book with Expedia and there would be a POUG it would only show in the last 48 hours before the flight while with BA direct it could show anytime after 48 hours from booking?

Would there still be a chance for an airport upgrade?

Thanks,
Globalist

Funnily enough people obviously bit this bullet and CW was largely full.

Out of curiosity I kept checking the upgrade price to see how it'd change: it increased to £4,500, then dropped to $1,000 at the airport on the day.

I declined at all three stages. Got two WTP seats to myself.
