The booklet produced internally about the new 777s says:

New seat cushion/foams plus covers for First and Club (with new Club colour scheme of the 787s, A380s, Super-Hi Js)
Seats, fabric and fabric designs for WTP and WT are the same as on the A350
WTP gains a water bottle holder
16" HD screen in First
12" HD screen in Club
12" screen in WTP
10" screen in WT
IFE boxes are "pan mounted"
Compared to unrefurbished aircraft, Club, WTP and WT now have 2.1A USB ports, and Club and WTP gains US/EU/UK universal power sockets (Club previously only had US/EU).

Wrong thread for this question - but have the A350's been confirmed to be going 9 Abreast as opposed to 10?

If I had to bet on it i'd say 9, but you never know these days.

Can anyone clarify "pan mounted" IFE? Does it mean on the bottom of the set pan, rather than the side of the seat legs?

Good question. I still cannot fathom how a box is still needed these days. Or if there is one, it should be tiny. These are very basic machines.

Not quite sure if here is the best thread, or the "BA in the media" one, but (cue frothing at the mouth) the Daily Mail has picked up on the new WT cabin: British Airways plans to shrink seats for long-haul flyers | Daily Mail Online

I know. When you think what your phone can do it should all be contained behind the screen these days. But I guess it’s cheaper to put it in a box.

Also in the Telegraph for those who cannot stomach the Mail:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/...engers-boeing/

Though at time of writing that mentions a reduction in ET legroom from 30 to 20 inches, something that even BA haven't managed yet.

I love the way the mail and telegraph are using the wrong pictures, if only they knew what they were talking about.

What's the logic for having these new big screens but no in seat power for Y? I would almost rather them not have the screens if it's coming at the expense of in seat power.

They have USB sockets, what are your power needs?

AA B787 has both power socket and USB on its Y seats. The USB portal can be damaged easily. I remember once in Stockholm or Oslo airport for the LHR flight (can not remember which), the gate has many USB charging points but none worked.

I really don't like the way the Press Release doesn't even mention the move to 10 abreast. As if they thought they could hide it!

It stinks - like politicians trying to bury bad news on the day of a disaster - deflecting attention away from the real story.

I would assume that these refurbed 777's won't be getting the new CW (thats coming out next year) at any point whatsoever once it's announced...

Am flying PUJ in WT+ on 8 April, back on 15th. Apparently then first plane will be doing that route amongst a couple of others. Any one know if I am likely to get lucky or unlucky, depending upon your perspective?
