Shortest Flight with Club World?

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if you can help me?

Would like to book a long weekend trip possibly a Thursday to Tuesday around Christmas time for Mrs Padmeister and myself preferably involving a nice Christmas Market and festive things like that.

Can you tell me what's the shortest flight BA do that offers CW instead of CE if there is nothing on offer fair enough and we just go CE but would prefer CW if at all possible. really open to suggestions as long as it fits the above criteria.

Thanks.

You could take a look at almost daily "CW A321 Operating Short Haul Routes" threads, take a risk and book one of those. Then hope it doesn't get swapped. CE service, but CW seat.

I'm not sure there's a master list, but ATH, OSL or ABZ have been mentioned recently.

I don't think you would get much CE service on the LHR-ABZ route though

I think FCO has also been mentioned. The biggest problem is the risk of swaps as you noted, and BA are gradually converting these excess mid-haul configured A321s to normal A321s.

Just go to BOS for a New England Christmas - it's not that much longer flying time.

Or ORD - they have a German Christmas Market. Great if you like sausages...

DME needs a visa and you can only get one by visiting the Russian embassy in person though. The extra cost and hassle may be relevant to your choice.

DME celebrates Christmas according to the Orthodox calendar so that's 7 January Gregorian. BEY is is 35% or so Maronite so they do celebrate on 25 December and pretty much in terms that we would recognise in Western Europe.

Maybe a little far-fetched for a long weekend but you save yourself a lot of cash and avios (admittedly you haven't said redemption) if you went LHR-TXL-AUH on AB, and book some lengthy connections to nip to the Berlin markets during your connections.

No doubt they'll be an effort at festivity if you drive up to Dubai.
