They don't. It is a combined First and OWE check in, given the high number of First passengers and the even greater number OWEs the check-in area could do with a separation so there is a dedicated First check-in line.
Whilst there is often a short wait, at other times - bearing in mind there are days when a cluster of flights will depart within 20-30 minutes of each other - the wait can be in excess of 10 minutes just to check in. IME there are often more OWEs checking in at the First counters than First class passengers.
