International to domestic connection at LHR T5

International to domestic connection at LHR T5

A seemingly basic question that I can't find the answer to. We're flying Washington Dulles to London Heathrow on BA #292, connecting to a BA flight to Edinburgh. Do we go through flight connections or do we have to go through the UK Border since our connection is domestic? Thanks.

You go through flight connections, specifically the route for UK/Ireland connections. You'll pass through three checks. The first is for conformance (are you in time to make your flight), the next is the UK Border passport check, the last involves taking a photograph of your face which is a requirement for all domestic flights. Then you'll go upstairs and go through security - bag xray etc. All explained in more detail in the T5 connections thread:
