TXL lounges

Flying from TXL next week..

I am on the last flight TXL - LHR, but a friend is on a later AB flight.

Whilst I can guest him into the BA lounge, can I guest him into the AB (AF at TXL I think) lounge so that he can at least sit in a bit of comfort for a couple of hours before he has to fly?

I don't want to make a fuss an insist that he has entry (which I would with a BA lounge) until I'm blue (well hopefully not) in the face...

Thanks

If you are a BA Blue member (as your profile states), I don't think you can guest him into any lounge.

Or did I miss something?

My understanding is that because the AB lounge is a third party lounge, it is only open to Oneworld passengers travelling on AB. To guest him in you would have to obtain entry yourself so I think the answer is no.

Many thanks

I thought that might be the case... Shame...

I will leave him in the BA lounge until 'kicking out' time.

Even if it was not a third party lounge, your guest is meant to leave when you do.

Isn't there also a requirement for your guest to be on the same flight as you?

A while ago, I tried to help out a dad trying to bring both his young children into the Galleries lounge at LHR. The lounge lady initially declined his request on the grounds that he could only guest in one person and the lounge was very busy. When I offered to guest in the other child, she said that would not normally be possible as the child was not on the same flight as I. She did let both kids in on that occasion, but said it was an exception.

That used to be the case, some years ago, guest was meant to be a travelling companion. I thought it made sense, stops fake guesting into over-crowded lounges (as advertised by some here on FT, you know who you are).

Just is case he's tempted to buy his way into the Lounge Pass accessible lounge there - don't, it's awful!

I was in the TXL lounge this morning, the lounge dragon there was making rules up left and right to ding the people in front of me trying to get in (she finally relented and let them in). Not a great lounge and no sense of welcoming at all!
