Same for me on BA104, DXB - LHR yesterday. Excellent crew kept me topped up with Economy Cava then moved onto very good measures of the 'F' champagne. I was sufficiently anesthetised at the point the box arrived to not care too much as to the presentation/selection/quality:-).

Just a quick edit to add, the crew served more than enough Vodka and Coke Zero for me. |
A 'lovely' WTP breakfast on BA80 MCT-LHR on 12 January 2018 - unfortunately I forgot to take pictures when it was initially served in its full glory... https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0b203e0ae1.jpg

Dinner on late night flights?
From the limited late night flight reports above, it seems you get a full dinner (with club main) if the flight departs before midnight, and a snack (and presumably club breakfast) if after midnight? So KUL-LHR departing 23:10 I would expect dinner, while DEL-LHR at 01:50 presumably only a snack (and probably the same even if I upgraded to club)?

Ba11 lhr - sin
Prosecco or orange juice pre-takeoff. I discretely asked for a refill and got one
Drinks service shortly after take off served with a bag of pretzels. Wine for dinner offered at the same time. I asked for two bottles and got them no problem. Wine was also offered when the food was delivered Starter - Potato salad with tomato and paprika dressing Mains - choice of Cashew nut satay chicken with stir fried vegetables and steamed rice or Braised beef with buttered savoy cabbage, chantenay carrots, Lyonnaise potatoes and sherry peppercorn sauce Dessert - Chocolate pot plus Butler's secret cheddar with biscuits plus a water bottle I had the chicken and it was quite pleasant. The chocolate pot as a small mousse like thing. The cheese is a small packet of cheddar with two water biscuits Water was offered throughout the night Breakfast - Sausage, bacon, egg and tomato or a cheese omlette. A small pastry was on the tray. Only one cup of tea or coffee was offered. One passenger had a few cans of Heineken for breakfast (I suppose it was midday local time) and it was delivered without one bat of an eyelid... |
BA 53 - LHR-SEA 16 March
Didn't get a photo of the menu or the meal, but...
For my money, I reckon WTP is a solid service. My only complaint was that the cabin was so cold the entire flight! The chap behind me had his coat on, and I grabbed an extra blanket for a muffler. Finally I asked cabin crew if they could turn the temp up, which they obliged. I guess no one had mentioned it. NB - going on about the 12th flight running where an iPad-toting CSM has not said hello to me as a gold. Although one of the very friendly WTP crew did say "Mr Expatbear, welcome back! Would you like the chicken or the beef?" |
The pretakeoff drinks should be served in glass glasses and should be OJ and sparking wine only ex London.

BA79 LHR-MCT
Same meal choices a while after take off. Pre departure drinks were in glasses. Meal only served after CW and Y completed. Breakfast was a box containing a Twix, 7 gram packet of popcorn and 15 gram packet of crisps. Minimalist fare. Otherwise, a decent flight. |
Since when does breakfast consist of chocolate, popcorn and crisps?!
|
Let's hope that the breakfast time departure back to LHR from MCT is somewhat better. But just in case, we are having breakfast in the terminal.

IAH-LHR in PE
Dinner is a choice of two items. Recently it was a chicken dish or some kind of "pumpkin ravioli". I chose the chicken and it was fantastic. It's served with a salad, bread and dessert. Breakfast is usually something they can hand out quickly. Recently it was a wrapped packet containing a "cream cheese stuffed pretzel roll". It was actually quite good. Departing from LHR you can choose your meal in advance. Traveling _to_ LHR you can't choose in advance but you do get a menu card before takeoff, so you can contemplate your choice. I fly often on both BA and AA. Overall I'm gonna say that BA cuisine is far better than AA. AA recently tries to be too fancy. Nobody really eats Truffled Goat Ears served on a bed of Eelskin Au Jus with a Peach Pit Reduction and garnished with fresh hand-picked baby maple leaves. It sounds fancy but it's hard to make that kind of stuff work in an airplane. I like that BA sticks to the kind of food that people are actually accustomed to eating.. |
MCT-LHR
An 09.15 departure meaning that the meal after take off was breakfast. In the words of the cabin crew, it was as English as the Omani caterers could manage. It was a laudable attempt. Regular orange / cranberry juice runs by the crew during the 8hr plus flight. The first and only drinks service was at 90 minutes prior to landing and distributed together with a tasty Omani sourced chicken wrap and two bar KitKat. I was beginning to think that this was a completely dry flight out of respect for Oman also being dry. A way to reduce the BA alcohol bill, perhaps. |

You would have been able to ask for anything from the bar at any time, but the usual plan for a breakfast service is having the bar found before the second service instead of the first . |

Different menu this month, also it's changed to a 787 from the midhaul 321.
I had the chicken. Quite spicy, just the way I like it. The desert was a bit tough to get out of the pot. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2f8fae2bd8.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...25cb6049d4.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...8e51d79017.jpg |

Yeah, the millionaire shortbread dessert is that awkward consistency of nearly solid treacle!
Meanwhile the afternoon tea in WT+ seems to have been 'enhanced'. Instead of the WT finger sandwiches & toblerone (or kitkat) it's now (in a larger box) with triangular sandwiches (about the same size) and a small piece of flapjack. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...64e32f9e79.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...17139a1525.jpg Not sure whether the pre-flight drinks have been enhanced away, but not a sign of them on yesterday's LHR-BWI flight... :-( |
Hi
Flying PE LHR-SEA. If I pre-order vegetarian meal, will I be offered the Economy Vegetarian meal or a Business one? Many thanks! |
A business class one.

Just remembered from the BA 293 LHR-IAD. I saw a woman sat behind me with a mini bottle of Cava (during first bar service) - did she bring it on or can one ask for it? I imagine supplies are limited.

Notes from this week's flights to/from Hong Kong. This is my second trip to HKG since the end of March - Magnum ice cream seemed to be elusive on these flights.
BA31, LHR-HKG, May 2018 Side salad Choice of beef or prawn based main Cheese and Peter's Yard crispbread crackers Lily O'Briens Millionaire Shortbread BA32, HKG-LHR, May 2018 Side salad of couscous and duck Choice of duck or halibut main Fruit clafoutis with custard No cheese or crackers |
Ice creams are only ex LON and in WT, if we had spare ones left we gave them out in WT plus, however they have just been added to the WT plus product.
I'm not sure why you ever got ice creams on this route as they should only be in flights departing before 18.00. |

I’m on BA112 this November, JFK-LHR, in WT+. I think flight leaves at 18:30 or so, so I think dinner will be served. I usually eat high protein and low carb, and always prepared with supply of Quest bars, but I really would have a nice meal. I’ve had the diabetic meals on Delta, and they’re awful. I looked at the multiple special meals on BA, and can’t figure out which would be best for me. The kosher may work out, but not sure. I’d surely be greatful for any suggestions. If it matters, I strive for 100g protein per day. |
I cannot workout what type of meal you are looking for and why a kosher meal might work? You will get a full hot dinner with a choice probably of a meat dish or a vegetarian one. |
I’m looking for a high protein meal, which doesn’t exist. I’m in the second row of WT+, and will just select the non-veg option. The kosher won’t have pork, and I don’t eat roast pork, but do eat bacon. My friend orders kosher and it’s chicken or beef, which works for me. |
Last time I was in WT+ they ran out of beef in the very front row.
The alternative was basic pasta that had once had some vegetable waved near it. Order in advance if you want to eat! |

YYZ to London. (god help you!!). currently salad - all lettuce with one piece of tomato, chicken in blackbean sauce (very salty and usually over cooked or veggie canneloni, roll, some vile choc cake with yukky artifical cream. Pre drinks, plenty of wine. Breakfast is that foul pretzel roll with cream cheese, with T&Cs and juice.
Drinks in plastic but wine in glass. No prosecco from Toronto - only boarded on OW flight - clearly a shortage of fridges in YYZ as they manage the bubbly for Biz and First From LGW / LHR - usually steak, and veggie pasta. 2nd meal - same as economy. I'd seriously eat in the lounge in toronto and get an extra hour's kip There is no way on earth the main meal and especially the entree could be called a biz meal or better catering.... |
"That foul pretzel" is worse than that. I have no words to describe its awfulness.

(the mixed grill breakfast given as the main meal (it was the day flight) was really quite nice). |
