AUP's do not earn additional Tier Points/Avios?

Greetings folks,

I recently flew BA from YYZ to LHR and took advantage of an AUP from Y to CW. The tier points/avios that posted were for Y. When I contacted Exec Club the response I got was...

"records confirm that you paid for a promotional upgrade to Business. While this allows you to enjoy the benefits of the new cabin both on-board and at the airport, I'm sorry to say the terms of the upgrade mean you do not earn extra Avios or Tier Points."

Is there any *official* posting somewhere that states I'm entitled to the CW tp and avios?

There is nothing officially published on BA.com, but it has been confirmed by the BA FT rep.

Key word here being "call" as in telephone. I suspect some poorly trained outsourced agent either confused you with a non BA flight or just got it totally wrong. AUP and POUG do definitely, 101% get extra TPs and Avios, and normally it's automatic too, though perhaps not for the double cabin jump.

This isn't "bash the OP" but it's worth mentioning that if the underlying fare is an avios fare, even if you pay cash for the upgrade, you don't get the tier points as if you'd paid cash for the whole thing.
