Have you thought of QF? If QF flight numbers on EK metal are available and of reasonable cost ex-SIN, SIN-DXB-LHR-DXB-SIN would get you 400 SC in J. You'd need QF flight numbers as status credits can't be earned on EK code. QF platinum (OWE) is attained at 1400 SCs and retained at 1200 SCs.
I'm not sure if a QF marketed, EK operated flight counts as an eligible flight though (4 eligible flights are needed to get QF platinum).
Also, EK is quite good towards QF status pax - it seems that op-ups on EK as QF plat are not as uncommon as you'd expect.

Now that MH and EK have started their extensive codeshare you might get reciprocal benefits flying MH regionally with EK status. Or else apart from the QF coded EK flight, I'm sure the MHcoded ones would qualify for OW TPs.
