Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles.
Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.
The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.
The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 20 October 2016.
The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 26 January 2017.
TopCashback (TCB)
Cashback can be transferred directly to your Avios account at rate of 1p = 1.05 Avios although this is not a great deal.

So did anyone manage to get some of those £3 cartridges from Tesco this morning that offered 500 points each?
Needless to say they sold like hot cakes very, very quickly. I didn't get a look in alas!

Nope, I clicked through and all were gone - unsurprising though, it was a cracking deal!

Has anyone had trouble getting the sign-up bonus from the Tesco credit card? I got a credit card over Christmas when they were doing a 1000 clubcard points bonus through Compare the Market, and also sent off a form for the refer-a-friend 1000 points bonus (thanks Raffles!). About a week later I got a 1000 pts bonus, but still no sign of another one. Not sure which bonus has already credited, whether it was the referral or the sign-up bonus - is it worth calling them yet?

You can always ask Raffles in the comments section of any of his blog articles, he usually replies.

Something very odd is happening with Tesco referrals. They are simply not crediting and I don't know why. The system was tightened up substantially last year but now it seems your chance of getting the points is close to nil even if you clearly qualify.
I have removed references to it from HFP this week because it is simply too much trouble now.

When should the autoconverted avios (avios.com) be seen on the avios account? This is the first time my daughter has her own Tesco points convert to her own avios account, so no previous experience. Still - 3 weeks since autoconversion seems extensive.

A question. I use Topcashback to earn money that will be converted to Avios via Tesco. I gather there's a £50 annual limit on transfers from Topcashback to Tesco. I've already converted £21.23 so theoretically I can only convert another £28.77.
However, I've just been able to put through £30.30. How?
I can only see a few reasons why
1) They don't mind a small excess on the limit
2) Tesco, not TCB, enforce the limit so £1.53 of my £30.30 will vanish when it arrives in my Tesco account in a few days
3) They've increased the limit
Anyone know?
