How many tier points for J class UK Domestic

Does J class on EDI-LHR / GLA-LHR still earn 40 tier points? I notice WTP fares from the UK get booked into this booking class. Curious whether I could use this to tease out a few extra tier points..?

It should be 20 Tier Points for 'Business UK' flights.

I have a weird one on this. On a multicity booking

IST - GLA - shows selling class I
GLA - LHR - shows selling class O
LHR - LBA - shows selling class I
LBA - IST - shows selling class I

According to my calculations that should work out 100 TPs each of the legs starting and terminating in IST (80 + 20), the O leg should be 5 TPs, but should not the other legs be 20 TPs.

As it is MMB is showing the whole trip as 225 TPs, which suggests that they are booked into classes K, L, M, N, S, V.

Whole trip was booked in Business.

Worth phoning them up?

Nope, MMB is well known for being wrong in this area, and has been for very many years. I suspect you will get the correct TPs on the day.

Thanks CWS, I feel it is only a matter of time before BA executives start contacting you to explain to them how these things work...

The points have credited but the domestic legs have only credited 5TPs.

I have contacted BA and they say that is correct.

Just to confirm it was a multicity booking booked as business class.

Can I just see if I've got your itinerary correct?

1 IST-LHR (I)
2 LHR-GLA (I)
3 GLA-LHR (O)
4 LHR-LBA (I)
5 LBA-LHR (I)
6 LHR-IST (I)

Is that what you meant? FWIW, my back-of-the-envelope adding-up makes that 225 TPs (80+20+5+20+20+80).

And did you actually only get 180 TPs in total (80+5+5+5+5+80)?

I don't understand your booking?

IST - GLA - shows selling class I
GLA - LHR - shows selling class O
LHR - LBA - shows selling class I
LBA - IST - shows selling class I
There are no direct flights from IST to GLA or LBA-IST? 5 points for GLA-LHR when in O class is correct. For LHR-LBA in I class 20 TPs would be correct - I actually had some I class domestic flights credit very recently and they were 20 TPs each.

Can you list all flights individually along with selling class please?

Yes that's correct, I have only flown the first 3 but the LHR - GLA and the GLA - LHR I have only got 5 TPs each.

Should not all the domestics book into the high (i.e. Business) booking class?

Sometimes the domestic does go in to a non business selling class even when you have CE flights in the booking. I have seen this sometimes with overnight connections.

It depends on how the ticket has been fared. If that's all on one ticket, it's a bit unconventional anyway. It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that you have actually been fared IST-LHR-IST in I class, with LHR-GLA-LHR and LHR-LBA-LHR nested inside fared in O class. That would have you booked as follows:-

1 IST-LHR (I)
2 LHR-GLA (O)
3 GLA-LHR (O)
4 LHR-LBA (O)
5 LBA-LHR (O)
6 LHR-IST (I)

You need to go back into your booking and check the booking class of each individual sector (in MMB, click the flight number of each flight and look at the last line in the pop-up).

Just to note that much of the information above is now out of date. See the Stickies on the forum's front page for more up to date information.
