AARP discount still working for me. I booked four (separate) tickets this afternoon, last one about 20 minutes ago. That said, not every flight still has I fares available--the fourth person in my party is going to have to fly AA ourbound, vs. the rest of us on BA, because by the time I got to her, apparently the first three tickets I booked had cleaned out the inventory!

I'm a bit confused

The sale is listed as $2,015, and then you take off the $400 AARP to get $1600.

But an hour ago I was seeing prices for $1200 including the AARP discount. I was about to book and now the prices are back to $1600 including the AARP discount. Was the $1200 a fluke that is now gone?

Thanks

Yes, some cities had a $1600 fare instead of $2000...so AARP took it to $1200. (I looked at the fares earlier today on ExpertFlyer.)

It appears that was a Thursday mistake...those fares are now $2000...and AARP takes to $1600.

Oh dear. I hope those tickets do not get cancelled--my group may riot!

Lax-Lhr was listed at $1600 now also $2000

My first look into the fare sale showed prices of $1600 and wanted to immediatly book it but upon finalization of booking it said error. Call BA to see if the booking went through.
Now the fares show up at a new price of $2016 which I eventually booked before the fare changes again. Now have secured 6 weeks summer vacation

does it still earn full tier points despite the use of 30k avios to reduce the price?

Might have to think about Easter or the May Bank Holiday though
Were the Christmas flights booked after you had registered for the bonus avios offer (https://www.britishairways.com/en-us.../bonus-avios)? If not, it might still be worth cancelling and rebooking to get an extra 25,000 avios!

Hobbes01, no they weren't - they have been booked for some time now. In any event my BAEC account is still based in the UK so I am not eligible for that offer unfortunately.

Also it seems as if some of the fares have been enhanced upwards (seems to be a change from J to D class for some of the UK sectors) - so even less of an incentive to cancel and rebook.

$1600 fares appear to be gone. New fare is $2015 as advertised. Still selling as fare class I. These fares on BA can also be booked through AA, and have the same refund rules as on BA. AA has the advantage of allowing you to place a free Hold on the fare for 24 hours. Not sure if this means that you can Hold on the 16th and pay on the 17th. Beware that fares purchased on AA are not eligible for a 24 hour full refund.

Are the AARP fares upgradeable?

Anybody know if you can use Avios to upgrade fares with the AARP discount?

Earlier in the day, I priced a few flights, and they were at $1200. I hesitated, and they shot up to $1600. Still great, but disappointed that I could not act quickly.......

What a scam

BA.com shows availability at a sale price for specific dates and then once selected gives you completely different fares, then crashes. The phone line now hangs up on you. Very impressive! Makes me want to never fly BA.

This fare is great! Booked a trip to Copenhagen, Oslo, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, and Stockholm in July for $1,594 per person. I'm already realizing how crappy BA is, but I think I can suck it up for this trip!
