That seems to be a serious capacity reduction: down from 48 J seats to 35.

787 appearing on LHR-TLV, Winter 2015/16 season

But an increase in W I think? (Just checked 1extra seat!)

My flight this Friday coming has all seats selected in WT+, but J looks relatively quiet

That's becouse it was only updated on Friday so you were only a day late...

Actually, I started typing a new thread about it as soon as I got an alert from MyFlight, but then got distracted and never completed it....

Fares no different to usual as far as I can tell (other than the "sale" fares on right now)

It is, and that was my first reaction as well.
First there was a reduction in premium seats when they took F of the route, and now this - not good!

Also, (and I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade here) all of you that seem so excited about this, besides the reduction in premium seats, bear in mind that while CW is ok, the feedback from WT on BA's Dreamliner is terrible, and from what I understand WT+ isn't great either.

The only way this may be at all positive is if it is a precursor to replacing the 321s as well, which would end up with a net gain in seats.

It does seem a little strange though, as it is a busy route, and BA have managed to poach quite a few regular premium passengers from EL AL recently (I am not the only one ... I know a few more as well).

One extra seat in WT+, but 47 less in W!

We are comparing with a 3 class 777, not a 4 class.

A major capacity reduction then, in all classes.

WT is terrible if you have shoulders. Which is most of us.
WT+ is probably the best (BA) + cabin out there, the A380 + cabin might just edge it.
A downgrade to WT would be terrible....

Same thing happened on ICN (although it was shifted straight from 4-class 777 to 787 with no 3-class 777 step inbetween) and the few times I have flow the route since the change, CW is 100% full and they are always recruiting volunteers at check in to accept a (laughable) £200 to downgrade from CW to WTP. I think they need an aircraft with the efficency of the 787 but more CW seats. In the meantime, check in early, select a seat and special meal etc in advance to reduce chances of involuntary downgrade..

The 787-9s, from memory, will have F.

Could be 787-9. No all may have F there was a no F version of the 787-9 and 787-10 contemplated too . Reduces J seat with 787 (even in J only 787-9) vs 777 and should firm the yield, remove the need for upgrades.

This can't be a 787-9 because when doing a dummy booking for CW on the desktop site, the seat plan showed a 787-8 seating map.

It's not, and I'm pretty sure all BA's 787=9s will have F.
