LGW - LAS or LHR - LAS?

Looking to fly WTP from London to Las Vegas.

I'm guessing there is no difference flying between LGW and LHR to LAS? Apart from flight times?

Or is there?

Thanks in advance.

Flight times plus aircraft type.

LHR 747-436
LGW 777-236

Service should be the same.

You could book out of one and back to the other or vice versa

If it was me I would book based on ease of getting to LON airport, flight time and price.

There is often a price differential. On board service should be the same.

If a mini break I'd say LGW out and LHR back

Makes the first day a full day and you'll arrive as hotel check in opens

I would suggest taking into account:

flight times - arrival and return for hotel checkin/out, if applicable
lounges
rare possible upgrade chances - emphasis on rare
if bit geeky like me - aircraft preference
ease of getting to LGW/LHR

Yes flight option is showing out LGW and back LHR, didn't realise aircraft type was different thanks for that!

Flying DUB-LGW-LAS-LHR-DUB.

Great stuff! You'll get a last full day in Vegas also. I booked earlier for November

Well as you're flying out of LGW you can pay to access the No1 lounge, which is pretty nice.

Will be arriving on the earliest flight from DUB so that might be a nice option. Glad I posted now!

Number one lounge is in the same complex as the BA lounge, just a different level. There are good reports of this lounge for a decent snack etc and quite often it's available for a decent pre-booked price.

Price usually sorts these things out for me: LGW generally seems significantly cheaper. If there's no great difference in fares, then its down to timings.

There are always voucher codes and suchlike available if you Google around.

It is a nice lounge, though make sure you prebook as it gets busy quickly with anyone and everyone being able to use it (though less so since the 'My Lounge' opened up, operated by the same people with a more cut down offering).
You can have a complimentary hot dish per person from the menu with any additional ones modestly priced at something like £4, or nearer the £10 mark for something more substantial (burgers etc).

It has a well stocked, manned bar and they are not at all tight with measures!

It's a good way to kill a couple of hours, the loos are also much nicer than the BA ones (that's not saying much, though).

Flying DUB-LGW-LAS-LHR-DUB.
If connecting ex DUB I'd definitely prefer LHR.

I'd choose the BA flights into LHR rather than EI to LGW.

Tired old planes and tired old service ex LGW.

If you want to be herded and barked at like a holidaymaker (and not just on the ground) then stick with the flight LGW. If you want to be treated with a bit of intellect then go LHR.
