Now I'm curious. Why this seat? Any others? What's special about 3A?
The CSD does the left hand side, serving the A B and D seats, with the other crew member doing the F J K seats. Unless they do the horseshoe, in which case the CSD would anyway get to 3A at he beginning of the round.

Unless you are in an E seat, there really is no upgrade to CE on a 767, especially if you are not even guarantee to be the meal.

Unbelievable treatment by someone I am ashamed to call a colleague.

I don't care if you're full fare paying or an upgrade, meal choice aside, you should have been treated just like any other Club Europe customer.

Who ARE these people!?!

Kind regards

That's disgraceful. I think the worst problem is the inconsistent service. I was on BA again last night and the service was lacklustre at best. Last time I took that same flight, the crew were real sweeties whose sole purpose in life was to make sure that those of us in CE had a great flight.

I don't know how to spot whether they are MF or what - hints please...

Thanks

H

Mixed Fleet cabin crew, based at LHR. They fly a mix of long and short haul, and are on newer contracts than EF or WF. Eventually, BA wants to move to an all-MF crew at LHR, but unfortunately for management, I don't think they can force EF/WF crew to transfer to MF.

On a ORD flight I was lucky enough to receive an op-up to F from J and was told when I was escorted to my seat that I could have neither wash bag or PJ's! I requested the J bag that I should have had and was only told that they would "see what they could do".... After TO the j kit arrived. This I understand.
Your situation is disgraceful and you must complain!!!

I have only once been offered the same service on an OpUp. Each other time it's been WTP-CW and each time I got WTP offering served in a CW way, with CW drinks. However that said each time a polite explanation was given, and the reaction is always the same, no problem, I don't usually bother with the food. Keep the water topped up and the tea coming and I'm happy.

That said, if a crew member had given me stick like that, and been rude and abusive to me, I would have been straight on to BAEC complaining

I understand the catering more easily. Meals spoil if they are not consumed on the flight. To carry an extra amenities kit (including the PJs) so as to have one for each FC seat only imposes minor costs: fuel to carry the extra weight and the possibility of having to pay for those items slightly sooner to have some excess inventory distributed around the BA system.

Please don't make mischief - British Airways' employees are British Airways employees regardless.

British Airways' policy is, and has always been, that we do NOT upgrade to a higher cabin unless the meal for that cabin is available. In exceptional circumstances, if a meal cannot be obtained at short notice, it has been known to offer a Club seat and advise the customer that no meal is available.

It is, and always has been, British Airways' policy that Economy meals are never issued in the premium cabins as that would draw attention to the fact that someone has had an "op-up". Whilst everyone knows that "op-ups" happen, British Airways prefers to keep it discreet. It has been known for the caterer to short-supply, in which case on a long-haul flight, it has been necessary to do this but that is vey much the exception rather than the rule.

However, if there was no meal available, it is very wrong for the crew to "blank you". Had my daughter been on the flight, she tells me she would have "found" a china plate or saucer, "liberated" some of the economy fare and served it to you unwrapped with your choice of tea or coffee as if you had ordered a special meal. There are ways and means to overcome a situation.

I am very sorry to hear this. It is quite clear that the outstations still don't adhere to British Airways "hard standards".
