I am afraid I dislike and disagree with the slant you are trying to put on what the OP has posted, and based on what everyone else seems to have posted on this thread your opinion is in the minority. When I read the OP's post on Sunday I felt really sad to hear about the behaviour of the passenger, especially when they were on board and the cc and fc were trying to deal with a very nervous flyer. The OP is correct to highlight the unacceptable way that passenger behaved and spoke. It did nothing to help the situation and I would hope that those reading the story could also see that.

Doesn't surprise me............seems you enjoy the pack mentality
and if anyone disagrees you laugh when they are called a ****
Is that behaviour acceptable on a plane or forum?

As I said, I shouldn't have laughed at Paralytic's post really. It was, I thought, a witty response to what you posted. Sorry about that.

It took me far to long to realise this was in reference to children, obviously says too much about me when I immediately thought you meant a dwarf....

"- apparently there is a very young girl who is afraid of flying and the captain is making a last ditch attempt to get her on board so that her family can go on holiday. He asks us to be patient a bit longer, and suggests that we might feel some sympathy towards the family. I agree."
Why didn't the parents just drag the child on to the flight and strap her down? Ridiculous behaviour by the child and/or her parents for not controlling her.

Oh dear, how did this awful thread get to so many posts??!!
I feel some explanation is in order- I am not the hero of the above story, far from it.
She isn't all she seems. People are getting close, but we were on a gatwick flight (purser) at the weekend (reasonable to assume from the number of people going on holiday? Maybe). A commuter? LGW? At the weekend? Possible, but...
Taking your shoes off? Naughty! Shoes AND socks? Must be a metaphor!
I was just having a bit of fun and trying to suggest we are all companions on occasion, none of us whiter than white (even the captain was in a slight huff!) read it however you like and it makes me happy that a few folk have posted such nice comments about a short piece I thought about for a while before I typed up.
I like to think that we have one if the best corners of the internet here!
