A post in 1st B744 Super Hi J rolled out suggests that there's a bulkhead dividing 20A / 20K from the door, which could explain this. It would be good to get confirmation one way or the other from one of our cabin crew members.
See also the video in this post: 1st B744 Super Hi J rolled out - at 0:12 the bulkhead appears to be forward of the door, and 0:21 confirms that the video was taken from 22J looking forward.

Only some of the upper deck seats are available for paid pre-allocation: 60B (on some flights), 63AB, 63JK and 64B. The others are only available to those who can pre-allocate for free.
When OLCI opens, you will have access to any seat on the upper deck that remains unallocated.Of the ones that are currently available, I would be thinking very much of 20JK. It's a pair with a window seat that has direct aisle access at an emergency exit, but the WT+ bassinets are now behind row 22.

What’s the sensible choice between 14A, 20A and 22A on an 86J daytime flight? Only 63J left free upstairs.
To JFK but I have GE so I don’t think being in pole position for immigration is my main concern.

LGW / CPT in Feb , best seats in CW
I understand some of the 777's on CPT route are being refurbed, they don't seem to get very good press do they ..
We managed to get a deal in CW but have to return via LGW on 777 , booked seats 10a&b - any opinions of those seats or the 777 from CPT in general ??

Hi BA Gurus,
I have 62JK held for my elderly parents on a 744 Low-J plane (only rows 17-20 on LD) but they really want to sit on the LD because they're concerned about being able to carry their rollaboards up the stairs. Despite my attempts at convincing them they can count on getting help from the excellent FA's, they are quite insistent! What Rows on the LD would you recommend for a couple? I see that 20AB or JK get good reviews but that seems to be related to High-J only based on what I've read in this thread? Or are those seats also the best for Low J as well?

20 AB or JK would work well for your parents, mid J and high J are the same in this respect, I am a little concerned that your parents may have problems with their hand baggage yet you have one of them in an emergency exit seat.

Pretty sure I'm correct in thinking row 62 window seats on upper deck of 747 avoid the "jumping over legs situation"? Asking for verification as prospective passenger there is mid 60s and doesn't fancy going climbing/hopping/jumping. Thanks.
