Memorable promotions from the past

I was just thinking last night about some memorable BA promotions from the past. In particular, I recall:

i) "Free upgrade to FIRST? You'd be lucky! Book World Traveller for a chance to win a free upgrade to FIRST" - advertised on London Underground around 1997-98

ii) Triple BA miles on all CW coupons burnt in January - March 2005 and again for the same months in 2006 - I seem to recall that all CW tickets were valid for this promotion

iii) In 2009 BA were flogging off tickets like they had gone out of fashion and I secured DOH<>LHR in CW for GBP 991.90!

Do any of you remember these? What are the most memorable promotions for you?

In the mid-late 90s there used to be plenty of offers for buy CW return, fly R class one-way. Those were a great deal

This was when R = the fast plane (RIP).

The BOGOF on CW 4 or 5 years ago.
Picked up some great deals to Shanghai and Hong Kong.
I think it worked out to around £900 pp.

The old Airmiles Shrinks the world promotion, 5,800 Airmiles (58000 Avios) plus £0
Return in CW to the East coast.....(no, not NCL!)

And wt+ was only 25% more miles than Wt when it was rolled out......

Some Airmiles CE flights crediting miles back and TPs which kept me silver one year.....

Yes, that was the best for me. I remember a very nervous recredit and rebook period as I rebagged our F flights to EZE for 50% off the 50% off...

There was a nice promo in (I think) 2006 when there was something like 10k extra Avios per round trip to NCL, to which I was commuting at the time.

"The World's Biggest Offer" where all flights globally were given away free for one day ( 23 April 1991). I managed to get to Rome, but friends/colleagues got to Australia and Concorde flights!

More recently ie in this century, the half price redemptions that dsf mentioned was excellent.

That was a great promotion and one I'd really love to see come back! A GUF2, a Joker and a 241 to get 2 x F to Australia for 100,000 Avios would be a nice touch

About 7 years ago there was a promo running for half miles redemptions in all cabins and could be used with 241s that was great. There was loads of availability also.
