Original fare bucket after UUA
Hello fellow FTers!
I have a question regarding UUA.
I'm about to book a ticket in E class (WTP) and UUA to CW, in U class.
After the upgrade, does the original WTP seat/ticket then return back to the E fare bucket?
Current availability shows W9E2T0 and a friend may be booking the same flight but in a month or so from now. So there's a risk he won't be able to get an E fare which is considerably cheaper than W.
I did a quick search but found no answer to this...

No, I believe the E fare stays with you as a sold fare. This doesn't necessarily stop additional E fares being released, subject to advance purchase requirements.
In either case, whether it's E3 or E2 isn't going to make much difference in a month or so. You'll be wanting to snap the upgrade as fast as you can.
