BAEC reward flight inventory vs KVS tool results

Hello Everyone,

I've been looking to book reward flights for 2 GLA-KUL in October.
The KVS tool shows CS8 in Biz on useful dates for both sectors on the outbound and inbound legs using a combination of BA for the domestic sectors and MH for the long haul.
Unfortunately the Exec club team can't see this on their end of the system.
Is this because of the way MH manage the reward inventory or should BAEC be able to see it ? or is the KVS just plain wrong ? In the past I had found it pretty accurate.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts on this or clues as to how I might be able to grab those seats.

Steven

KVS is just scraping BA.com (using your BAEC details) to find availability.

Have you checked BA.com directly for the individual sectors (make a dummy booking)?

Take the precise separate sectors that you have found on KVS, and input those exactly sector by sector into the BA engine. See if that is identical.

Good luck.

KVS scrapes data from Qantas.com (for Awards/OneWorld) or from the BA/JL/CX websites depending on which option is selected in the drop down.

If you are using Awards/BA-OneWorld the results should be identical to what BA.com will provide.

If you are looking to redeem Avios (i.e. it's a BA redemption) what would be reason be for using anything other than the Awards/BA-OneWorld method?

When I recently booked an award ticket using MH on DL miles, the DL phone agent had trouble getting confirmations for MH flights that appeared to be available. The solution was to start with a fresh PNR and put only the MH flights on it until a return message was received from MH (almost instantly) that they were confirmed. Only then could she add my domestic DL connecting segments.

If OP is building a PNR on line starting from GLA, a similar issue may be at work here with oneworld.

The 'default' is Awards/OneWorld which uses QF.
The only times I do not use the BA-OneWorld option is to search airlines that BA.com does not show award inventory for, and hence KVS will not show award inventory for using Awards/BA-OneWorld.

That is showing as available on ba.com. What happens if you try and book it online?

It may be selected when you first start KVStool, but if you change it to BA-OneWorld then it stays selected (forever) as far as I can tell.

I've never used the OneWorld(QF) search.

This is a known issue with BA.com

As mentioned above, only 1 Award Seat is actually available.
