A reminder - those offering guesting are quite happy to be guested to a superior lounge! There is no need to post a separate request with your offer, this is in the interests of efficiency and housekeeping of the wiki.

EDIT: just to add the reason ask is that if you are offering there is no need to also put a request in for a better lounge as well - that is taken as read so if you offer to guest in to the GF, you would also be glad to be guested in to the CCR and there is no need to put the request in as well. It is mentioned in the wiki on the first line. It just ensures the wiki doesn't become pages long.

I know some others new posters can make this mistake but I wasn't expecting a Mod to do so - (he says whilst doffing his cap, bowing, and slowly backing away )

No she wasn't. Go back and read what happened. I suggested she did not bump requests, so she had previously put them in the thread several days/weeks before, they had been added to the wiki, then she came back at a later date and bumped the request. It was teh bumping which is a problem. What BotB was not bumping. Having added the offers in to the wiki and at the same time highlighted them in the thread, if BotB came back a week or two weeks later and reposted them or bumped them then that is what would not be allowed.

Constantly posting to highlight a previously posted request/offer is the thing which is not allowed. The problem with bumping is that if everyone starts doing it this thread will become unmanagable and just full of bumps. Since we have a wiki there is no need for it.

Just to be clear there is no problem posting the requests/offer at the same time as putting them in the wiki. If you do this please say they are already in the wiki in your post as BotB did. This ensures that whoever is updating the wiki knows they can ignore your post.

If anyone will be in GF or CCR on morning of Aug 25th: I had offered to guest Stewaran into the GF. I had to change my plans today after my wife finally realised what Ex-EUs were, so after some dirty looks my way about spending longer away from home than necessary, I had to change my positioning to BRU flights. Anyway, if anyone is in either lounge the morning of Monday Aug 25th and would be willing to guest in my place please message him. He is currently offering to guest into GC that day. Many thanks, and sorry about the changes to Stewaran (who I have messaged of course).

You have pulled that second quote out of context techie and you have now edited it with something else, it applies to bumping not to what you are now on about. Wembleygal was suggesting the reason she or others were bumping was that the wiki is not visible on the app or people may just not read it. I was responding to that point and saying that if you wanted to be guested in then the effort in reading teh wiki was not unreasonable, and reposting (i.e. bumping) was not the way to deal with this.

My quote which you have now edited you post to include was in resposne to her re-posting requests already posted a while ago and already in the wiki.

No, it is a nice way of highlighting new requests/offers when you post them to the wiki as well. It is not redundant and no one has suggested before that it is unwanted.

As I and others have said, bumping is not allowed, and starting new threads to bump is not allowed. As I have also noted there is no problem posting the requests/offer at the same time as putting them in the wiki. The only thing to bear in mind is that you should say they are aleady added to the wiki to ensure that whoever is updating the wiki knows they can ignore your post. I personally just add them to the wiki and don't also post them, but there is no problem doing that. It is re-posting/bumping which is a problem.

I am not sure what further clarification you want.

I am in the same boat: I just add them to the wiki and do not post resort to another post in the thread. If, however, it is not frowned upon, doing so would seem like an easy way to increase one's post count. If nobody cares about that, no problem, I'll crawl back down the hole I came from.
