Upgrading Using Avios (UUA)
Summary guide to bookings which can be upgraded with Avios:
  • BA issued tickets (can include other carriers) ^
  • TA issued (on BA stock) booking with only BA flights ^
  • TA issued (on BA stock) booking with other carriers
  • Tickets issued on non-BA stock
TA has to issue the ticket in the country of your BAEC membership as well.

LGW to Algiers (ALG), Bodrum (BJV) due to start late April 2015, Dalaman (DLM) due to start late April 2015, Fuerteventura (FUE) due to start 13 December 2014 (does not show as a short haul+ route on BAEC calculator but that seems to be an error), Heraklion (HER) due to start late April 2015, Lanzarote (ACE), Larnaca (LCA), Las Palmas (LPA) due to start March 2015, Madeira Funchal (FNC) due to start March 2015, Malta (MLA), Marrakech (RAK), Paphos (PFO), Rhodes (RHO) due to start late April 2015, Tenerife (TFS), Thessaloniki (SKG), and Tirana (TIA).

LCY to Mykonos (JMK) and Santonrini (JTR) - both for June to September 2015.

As someone already concluded, this thread is beeing cluttered with discussions about hotels, seats, ground transport etc.

My proposal for 2015 are divisions into two threads:

2015 Tier point Runs
Tier Point Run Discussions

The first beeing reserved for TP run deals/fares

The latter for all sorts of discussions over fares, fare buckets, ticketing. hotels, MCT's. ground transport, lounges and visa requirements.

Any objections?

yes. not THAT exact wording though. alliance spelled with 1 a at the beginning followed by 2 l's.

Gotcha! Thank you. Final question (for tonight) How do I find out the TP I would earn on a routing option please? Is this part of the info displayed along with the pricing? I can see number of miles, but not TPs?

I like it, I would also like to suggest encouraging everyone contributing to the former thread to include fare basis and matrix codes, so that anyone new can be just told "Search this forum for ILR28AP" (for example), avoiding repeating the same details over and over again.

yes. you can use that for any particular flights. So if you are keen to take a specific flight (but matrix doesnt easily throw it up) (for e.g. time or a/c type reasons), enter the flight number.

the really good recent ex DUB fares are gone. I am not entirely sure what current deals there are ex DUB. ex CPH has some decent ones but during quite restricted dates.

sounds good. I'd add to that that we maybe use the "HNL meet up thread" as a TP running meeting up thread (which it currently already is).

only word of "caution" is that I think we are a very friendly bunch in here and this is a great thread (for fares, for welcoming newcomers etc). so i'd be keen that we avoid any behaviour that I've seen in other threads (not BAEC but fare threads) that sneers at anyone who didnt read the whole thread and just replies "see post xyz". I.e. yes, separate discussion from fares but retain the friendliness and be forgiving to those who ask questions in the fare thread that might be more suited to the discussion thread.

I guess we can think about the wiki as well.

We've tried to tidy it up from time to time, tried to include dates of fares etc but it still quickly can get outdated (though even outdated fares are useful to give pointers to those searching for good potential fares).

Yeah, there are definitely better ways to organize information in the wiki. Listing of various individual routes is not particularly useful when the sale is, for example, from DUB to anywhere in NA, so plenty of routings and carrier combinations. Also, for the most runs crucial sale window information and fare basis are missing, leading to all the "I tried to find this run for month X and did not get close" messages. There was an attempt to resolve this by having the "Current ExEU Sales" section, but it's all the way at the bottom. Making a section per active sale, including the fare basis and instructions on how to reproduce on matrix might be a way to make the information more structured and easily accessible.
