A female passenger found herself trapped in the lavatory on board a British Airways plane as it hurtled down the runway and took off.
"Hurtle" - a word you never get outside of newspapers... but note how it adds an extra air of panic compared to "as it took off."

Bottom line: Cabin crew are responsible for making sure that the cabin and passengers are secure for take off. They weren't.

Maybe because flyertalk is a very small part of the people who fly BA.

Passengers also have a responsibility in this too.

According to the article it wasn't a girl, but an adult woman in her early 20s. We even have the added important piece of information that she was 'dark-haired'. Unfortunately the DM couldn't source a picture of her to see if she was brazenly showing 'side-boob' (with inset photo zoomed in on offending flesh, possibly even circled to ensure you didn't miss how obscene it was).

A couple of years ago I was flying MIA - SCL in business class and an elderly passenger seated next to me went to the lavatory as the cabin was getting ready to land, they didn't make it out in time and the flight attendant opened the door and told them to hold on and not come out until after landing. I am pretty sure the crew could have gotten in trouble for that, but I also realize the flight attendant didn't really have much if an option, I imagine she couldn't just call the cockpit to abort a landing just seconds prior to touchdown.

Undoubtedly the case. What a classy newspaper this seems to be.
