BA86 Cancelled. BA87 not operated due to lack of crew?

A fortune. 86 wasn't totally full, and I would think 87 was about the same too. Say 250 on each?. That's €300000 in compensation before the food, lodging and transport, £500,000?

To update, letter from BA today saying a cheque for the equivalent of €1800 is on its way to me. No explanation as to why VS or AC were not offered.....
