Missing: black puddings

Hopefully it is just an ordering oversight, but there was no sign of any black puddings this morning in GF. I hope it is an ordering oversight, but the menu seems to have changed since Monday evening, and black puddings are no longer listed in the "Please help yourself" breakfast section

Courgette tart is replaced with shallot and red wine tart, plus there is now cream of mushroom soup and Lake District farmed game terrine. So it is not all bad news post-breakfast.

As much as I have praised the BA lounge food offerings in the past I have to say I wasn't that keen on the black pudding I had in the arrivals lounge last time I was there. I thought it tasted rather bland.

You beat me to this!

Here is the full menu:

The black pudding makes spasmodic appearances, but it would be good to see it as a regular item since it's an efficient use of a pig.

If you can't find black pudding - just bite yourself really hard until you bleed. Wait for it to scab over and then eat the scab.

I'd rather eat tesco's burgers.

Ate it with gusto in western Canada around Christmas. Called dark buckwheat sausage or "Kashanka" and sold in some Polish/Ukrainian butcher shops in a ring - like those wonderful rings of garlic sausage (aka ham sausage).

Widely available in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta...

It's a very common food item here...morcilla.

Some people eat it cold which isn't my idea of fun. They think my idea of coating it in batter and deep frying it disgusting.

The philistines! Brilliant battering technique by the way!

Missing: black puddings

I believe the police are seeking a man fitting the description of Bill Oddie seen leaving GF with a large box of black puddings. If seen he is not to be approached.

Agreed. Although the black puddings, I find, are above par when compared to the bacon, which, I find, is always below par. The sausages, on the other hand, just always seem to taste bloody brilliant, wherever they come from, as do the scrambled eggs. ;-) Mushrooms are always a bit greasy but tasty; tomatoes are hit and miss, depending upon whether they are burnt or slowly cooked. ;-)

What is required on the menu - I think - is a bit of horse meat. It would show to the world that BA is truly international ;-)

Or maybe the head of a battered guinnea pig for HIDDY. ;-)

And the best black pudding is of course : Stornoway Black Pudding : by far. They're actually trying to get some sort of EU name protection for it now.

That's Peru.

Bulls balls are about as daring as it gets down here.

What about the Bury Black pudding?

Like Hiddy I like black pudding in batter too - on trips to Scotland, I have also enjoyed battered haggis. Thinking of which why not a Burn's supper in GF on 25th?
