FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: Stez
Please see post 2 for the latest lounge guesting offers and requests. Please check ba97.com in the first instance.

As always, PM the person to confirm, as I (Stez) make no guarantees to the accuracy of my updates and the invites may have gone to someone else. Times are presumably local, and is when you are in the lounge or ready to be invited. Usually those offering invites themselves will be happy to be guested into a superior lounge - there is no need to make a combined offer/request (offer GC but want a better lounge).

It'd be great if you could post your lounge guesting/request in the same format as below... OFFER|REQUEST dd-MMM-yyyy / hh:mm-hh:mm / XXX / Terminal Lounge / FlyerTalkName

Eg, OFFER 32-JAN-2010 / 15:00-17:30 / LHR / T5 GC / Stez

Alternatively, angatol created a script which is run in your web-browser using Greasemonkey Firefox extension, and formats your quick reply box with flights from your PNR in the format as above. Just change times to when you are available to guest, and change OFFER to REQUEST/lounge where appropriate. No private information is sent to anyone except checkmytrip.com, it is all executed on your web browser.

To search this thread for any particular dates you are interested in to see if anyone else is offering or requesting, just use the "Search this Thread" function, and put the date in double quotes, eg "30-OCT-2013"

Upcoming BA FlyerTalk Dos:

Possible SYD Do in mid-January...

Maybe one in Cornwall?

Just to say Stez this is an amazing service you manage.

Just wondering what the etiquette is with regards to signing someone in. I would normally have a chat for a while and then head off to do some one. I would also make sure it was clear how much I appreciated the sign in . Just wanted to see what most people do in these circumstances.

FlyingBald, when I offer to guest someone to a lounge I don't expect them to sit and chat with me. They are more than welcome to, but it's not expected.

Sometimes I have work to do preflight so I do occasionally make it clear when offering the invitation that I would not have much time to chat.

The rule is that there is no rule, provided the guest behaves! I'm sure the one offering the invitation would let you know if they are, or are not, happy to chat.

I've met some wonderful FTers in the lounges, often we'll chat for a quick drink and go about our separate business and on other occasions we'll merrily chat away for hours.
