BA SH Catering in Y

Can't understand why they don't get Pret a Manger to supply a few sarnies and fruit.

Surely it would be tastier and cheaper than the current tat...?

Probably because the £4 spent on a Pret sarnie and piece of fruit would probably blow the CW per-head budget, let alone ET!

I suppose what I'm really trying to say is I think many travellers in economy would pay that extra fiver if they knew there was a proper snack waiting to distract them during a SH flight.

Think of the good publicity...

<sigh> You miss my point.

I did used to enjoy the Harrods smoked salmon sarnies on the plane...they had a pepper shaker and slice of lemon. Quite a performance in Y.

You need to look at the demented logic of airline economics. BA has no control over the following costs:

Fuel
Staffing (crew numbers set by law, long term pay deals)
APD
Aircraft lease cost (long term deals signed a decade ago in most cases)
Landing charges
etc

BA can control the following costs:
Food
and, er ....

Hence why food is disproportionately poor across all classes.

I LOVE the BoB on NH short haul Y. They let you buy business class food. It costs you quite a bit (about £15), but it's nice food. I wish BA did that.

Maybe - but the vast majority of people seduced and taken in my Low Cost Airline marketing won't pay 10p more for a BA flight if RyanScare is cheaper.

Taking a pop at the British probably won't get you very far on the BA forum.
