Help Maximizing Miles & GUF2 for Honeymoon
Hi Everyone,
I've naturally been doing a lot of my own research on this, and have come up with some good options, but am interested in soliciting ideas from the forum on BA-centric options for my upcoming honeymoon, (planning on two weeks or so, leaving after May 26th.)
I have about 450,000 Avios, a GUF2 in the bank, and money isn't really an object within reason.
We would like to fly F as much as possible, and won't consider less than J.
The preference is two destinations, one tropical, one cosmopolitan, though I am open to other ideas.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Habemus

Hong Kong for the main flight, plus some suitable resort in Malaysia as an add-on. Personally I'd go somewhere off the beaten track, but Langkawi is the obvious one (and on a very beaten track).
Singapore is the alternative but availability is not so good.

How about Tokyo & Okinawa? Early May it should still be good there. Maybe some rain but no day long downpours there. Can't take the credit for this suggestion. It comes from elsewhere.

On a serious note, San Francisco, then one of the less commercialised Hawaiian Islands. ^
If I had to choose, Lania or the Big Island. Not exactly off the beaten track, but they have their moments.

Nice to have other choices, though.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions so far!

I believe that on a honeymoon you should opt for something you will not soon repeat. So a beach holiday is fine but only at an extraordinary location. Something like this or this. If money is not really an object: http://www.fourseasons.com/borabora/
There are some excellent resorts in middle America that are less 'cliche' than the normal caribbean destinations. Think Belize, Nicaragua or Panama. If you like Asia you could consider the Philippines, especially the Shangri-La on Borocay. Easily reached from HKG on CX.
Whatever you do, make it special. Don't stay on the beaten path.

If you are into diving/snorkeling, then buy HKG-BKI-SDK in MH C and 4-5 nights on Lankayan island
Otherwise HKG-MNL on CX and straight on to El Nido (Lagen island or Miniloc) for 4-5 nights.

Canada? Vancouver was beautiful last time we were there in early May, I imagine late May even better.
