Location: 15 minutes west of LHR, Stockholm, or somewhere inbetween.

I mentioned this in a posting on the 6th and the seismic activity is ongoing.

Katla lies below Mýrdalsjökull, so click on that link on the left hand side.
An eruption is statistically considered overdue and will happen at some point, but nobody knows when.
The last eruption was in 1918 and caused crop failures in Europe that together with the food shortages and health problems caused by the First World War and the flu outbreak, in all caused a very large loss of life in Europe.
This time around, it may cause massive flight disruptions which may have an additional impact on the economy, rather than massive loss of life.

was there on Wednesday, no palpable earthquakes or smoke to be seen. Let's hope for the best
