Favourite/leave favourite destinations
Following on from 747_not_777's example i thought i might post a thread........
Just wondering what the FTer's most favourite and least favourite destination is and reasons why!
i reasise that most of you guys (but not all) fly a lot for work, so perhaps split your answers down by work and non wory flying
and it would be interesting to know the reasons for your choices as well !!
over to you:

^ Greater Washington. Museums, History, Shopping, Food, Scenery ... and the only tourists seem to be American
Can't recommend it highly enough.
Most of UK, which is why we left it

Short haul - Work
Favourite - Istanbul (office is 2mins from the airport!)
Least - Athens closely followed by Larnaca (i just can't get on with either destination)
Long haul - Work
Favourite - Hong Kong (great place to work and unwind)
Least - a split between Dubai, Riyadh and Jeddah (though if Dhaka was still in the network that would be a clear winner). All dismal, depressing, charmless.
Short haul - Leisure
Fav - Istanbul (centuries of history, great nightlife all in one place)
Least - Manchester (I mean, why? )
Long haul - Leisure
Fav- Tokyo (the ultimate city)
Least - Dubai (hate hate hate the place)

Favorites:
NCL - especially the approach over the coast, and it will always be home of course...
Los Angeles - the airport may be a bit of a nightmare, but I love spending time in Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey
Least Favorites:
ATL - passed through for the first time this week. Would not like to repeat the experience. Wouldn't want to repeat flying on DL for that matter...
CDG - dreadful airport and I find the city itself over rated.

Clear difference between BBB and Swanhunter on Istanbul. Hoping to go there next year. What's that about chaps?
For me - best SYD and MAN (longest and shortest routes, like them both, including the Concorde at MAN), JFK not far behind.
worst - CDG, prefer the train.
Little Fruitcake's favourite, LAX for sure.

Mind, an IST day trip can't be fun if you are crew. A long day, busy cabin and hard service.

Good work cornishsimon
Favourite for work: MAN - short & easy flight from LON, easy access to car hire when I get there and a nice lounge to enjoy when I get back for the return.^
Least favourite for work: The thought of a client even suggesting I might be routing out of Luton or Stanstead - it isn't happening!
Favourite for leisure: PHX - I just LOVE this part of the world, not to mention the airport (even the name 'Sky Harbour' sounds cool!), the lounge team, and the sight of a BA 747 landing with the red rock towering behind...^
Least favourite for leisure: I will only travel to somewhere I want to for leisure, so I dont really have a least favourite. I guess you could say the lack of BA metal to BEB makes the journey less of a favourite these days, but the destination is still top notch.
