Hello from the Concorde Room!

Well I got here - and very quickly through security, and Don't shoot me - but I must admit to being a bit underwhelmed.........

I've had lunch, and am sitting waiting to see if I need to trek over to 5B for the flight so I thought I would check in and say hello....

We are being entertained by a very noisy American gentleman shouting at the poor dragon as he has (apparently) missed his flight as he wasn't paying attention..... ho hum!!!

I think the problem is a lot of people build the CCR up to be magic and worth 4-6 hours of their time so first time users can be underehelmed.

It is a nice lounge, quite nice food, OK drink but apart from that it is just a lounge

Enjoy your flight.

You need to get a procession of those tall champagne flutes, filled as they are close to the brim, heading your way.

The CCR will start to look better then, I guarantee it.

Enjoy your stay, CarolynUK!

But don't miss your flight, it sounds like the poor dragon has been shouted at enough for one day ;-)

So was I when I was in there for the first time, it's a very nice lounge but it’s not amazing in any way shape or form, and I think VS's Club House at LHR is far more exciting.

Even more underwhelming is the First check in.

As discussed over and over again here BA's First ground experience is generally extremely underwhelming.
Thankfully, service in the air (usually) makes up for that!

Perhaps the OP should nip out to Wetherspoons for 10 mins then go back to the Concorde Room to see if it feels any different

Presumably the Feltham branch would be an even more effective cure but that seems to be taking matters a little too far...

PS Carolyn - have a great flight!

But I don't want to be "amazed"; "excited" or "overwhelmed"!

I just want a calm, relaxing, typically British understated experience.

Indeed.....and the same can be said for the SYD F lounge, the LH FCT and no doubt the rest of the famous F lounges. They are all great lounges but some people go way OTT when describing them.

Or reacting to them when seats are taken with other bags and they are tired after carrying 27 items of hand luggage
