OT...but just seen itv news -apparently a flight has overshot the runway at NCL. Anyone have any info on whether it was a commercial flight? No injuries reported apparently.

I'm in York ATM.
I was due to be on the BA1321, but I've just checked MMB and...it's cancelled. Nice of them to let me know!

Edited to add: just got a text:
Flight BA1321 on 26 Nov NCL/LHR ref XXXXXX is cancelled. Visit ba.com/mmb Or call BA 0800 727 800 (UK) or 1890626767 (IE) Apolgies.

Threads merged. I know IAMORGAN got there first, but this one's got the more descriptive title

One poster in another pplace is suggesting Thomsonfly, but that people are being bussed to the terminal. Nothing to back that up just yet, though.

Lots of tweets about it. Appears to be weather related, a skid.

I'll allow it

According to (insertdisparagingcommentabout)airliners.net, it's Thomson aircraft G-FZDR, no injuries.

PPrune now saying it's TOM1445 from ACE.

I wonder why it returned to LHR and not on to MME - or were they worried arriving pax wouldn't have £6 each in coins to leave the terminal

I guess BA has the capability to handle an A320 at LHR quite easily -they should all be processed quite quickly. In a way I'm surprised they didn't divert to somewhere a bit closer to NCL -LBA or MAN or even EDI (at least BA has an operation there) would have been options. But I guess Heathrow is the logical option.

Good to know they had plenty of fuel -although tbh I don't know how far into the flight they got before turning back.
