An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
  • All POUGs earn full TPs and Avios for the upgraded cabin, subject to the original booking being paid for with cash.
  • POUGs *ARE* offered on Hand-Baggage Only fares, if available
  • POUGs only become available after 48 hours of making your booking, until any time up to, and including OLCI. After being checked in you will not be offered a POUG.
  • POUGs do not seem to become available for travel agent bookings, until 2-3 days before departure (YMMV)
  • POUGs cannot be requested from Service Centres, except that occasionally BA.com will not proceed with a POUG online and display a message inviting you to call the Service Centre to complete the transaction.
  • After a POUG has been purchased, the ticket become non changeable and non refundable, apart from government taxes.

Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

I've never been turned down when asking before, wonder if it's because I'm no longer a OW Sapphire (I'll be BA Silver once I land though!)
The flight is looking busy, KVS shows:

F1 A1 J2 C2 D1 R1 I1 W6 E4 T1 Y5 B5 HL KL ML LC VC SC NC QC OC GL

I'd go back the ticket desk.

Strange, I just re-ran the query in EF, it is showing
F7 A7 J8 C8 D8 R8 I8 W2 E2 T2 Y0 B1 H0 K0 M0 S1 G0

I went back and asked again just in case, but no go.

Thanks for checking Tobias.

Very strange indeed. I've checked KVS again in case I put in wrong info and got:

BA 27
F1 A1 J2 C2 D1 R1 I1 W6 E4 T1 Y5 B5 HL KL ML LC VC SC NC QC OC GL

I wonder why/how there is such discrepancy between KVS and EF???

The screenshot shows a "+1" day indicator next to the departure time, so those flights results are actually for tomorrow (04 Oct).

To see the results for 03 Oct, just select the (Anytime) option.

Sounds like a reasonable deal for that length of flight.

Enjoy.

Anyone have a sense of how likely it would be to get a POUG on a flight to EZE? Am in WT+ (which I will survive fine) but CW I would pay for if available at a decent price - only seats available are 3xJ of which one is C so odds are likely nil? Flight is really full otherwise, prob 1 seat in WT+ and 3 in Y per flightstats

Not sure of likelihood, but if available (either through MMB or at check-in online or at the airport), the price will probably be around the £500 mark each way.
