An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
  • All POUGs earn full TPs and Avios for the upgraded cabin, subject to the original booking being paid for with cash.
  • POUGs *ARE* offered on Hand-Baggage Only fares, if available
  • POUGs only become available after 48 hours of making your booking, until any time up to, and including OLCI. After being checked in you will not be offered a POUG.
  • POUGs do not seem to become available for travel agent bookings, until 2-3 days before departure (YMMV)
  • POUGs cannot be requested from Service Centres, except that occasionally BA.com will not proceed with a POUG online and display a message inviting you to call the Service Centre to complete the transaction.
  • After a POUG has been purchased, the ticket become non changeable and non refundable, apart from government taxes.

Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

Will be offered for AA codeshare

Hi,

I was wondering will I be offered if I am on an AA codeshare flight number but operated by BA for a Transatlantic flight?

I think I already know the answer, which would be negative.

Cheers!

If you can get it into BA.com MMB then it might be offered, although probably only at OLCI.

Only at OLCI, I fought this out when my partner and I flew BA last (2010) xmas. BTW not too sure where you are fly out of but if you can upgrade to WT+ makes a world of difference...

Was offered an upgrade to TLV (W to J) for GBP 449 (i'm quite sure that's more than the actual fare difference) during the passport verification (mobile BP) stall before security control.

... stayed with 13k with normal sitting besides me.

booked ET tickets to MUC today in September - getting offered upgrade to Club Europe for £79 each way, prob £30 saving vs. the cost of a return flight in CE outright. Given we all have Silver and therefore lounge access, instant seat selection, extra checked baggage allowance (which we won't use) there really is no point on this journey unless really needed the tier points

Had a client booked in T class LHR-TLV on the 163 last week and was offered an upgrade to CW in MMB for $313 and then again on his return flight 2 days later on the 164 at OLCI also for $313.

$313 = £199

At IST, there was a sign on the check in desk that offered, subject to availability -

EUR170 from ET to CE

EUR175 from WT to WTP (North America, IIRC)

EUR220 from WT to WTP (other routes)

OK, dumb question alert. Why are they pricing those in EUR and not TRY?
