BA Gold so can pre select - currently have 11 E/F as exit row but don't actually know if this has any more leg room than any other Y seat on the 320 - anyone who knows the best Y seat please respond!

Row 11 has marginally greater legroom than standard seats. It also benefits from the seats in front not being able to recline.

Note: there's a couple of rough A320s (former GB Airways aircraft) with non-reclining row 11 seats.

Does anyone have any ideas which are the best seats on the Cityflyer fleet? I can't find seat maps etc anywhere, nor can I find a similar topic here.

It would no doubtedly have been answered, so long as we know an aircraft type rather than a "fleet" containing various birds!

Probably search for "Embraer" or "E70" or "E170", or "Avro". There have been a few threads comparing the Embraers and Avros.

Looking for some seating advice

On the 757, row 26 is the exit row. Looking at Seat Guru it says that 26A/F are hampered slightly by the slide.

I'm currently booked into a normal window seat but have the opportunity to change to the exit row. For someone that understands this exit row - would you keep a normal seat (17F) or take 26A/F with the extra kegroom but possibly hampered?

I guess I'm trying to work out just how 'hampered' the window seat is.

Go for Row 26 for the legroom (which is vast). The 757 slide enclosure is not as large as on the 777/747.

Be aware that sometimes people queue in the area in front of those seats for the toilets.

I always choose 26C or 26D but the window seats are fine, even for a tall person like me. I can still stretch my legs out fully in front of me, but they just have to be slightly to one side because of the door. Still far better than any other row.

My recollection is that the only window you have is by your shoulder, so the view isn't that great. If you're very tiny and never notice how much legroom you have, then you might be better in another window seat.

I recall once travelling with a friend on a 757 to LIS with me in 26C and my friend booked in 26D. My friend, who is a Gold and even taller than me got downgraded (sic) to a CE seat and he was replaced by a dwarf whose feet barely reached the floor - a complete waste of an excellent exit row seat.

Why are all the seats leather apart from the ones in the most rear cabin - where they seem to be incredibly old material seats (as far as i know all Euro Traveller are leather?). Is there a reason for this? Did they just get halfway through a refit?

Another question - do these european versions have those incredibly old CRT televisions hanging from the ceiling? Do they even work?

Any other interesting caveats about the euro 767 worth knowing?

The seating is as it is because the seats from door 1 to door 3 can be converted to club europe. The seats in the back cabin are the old euro traveller seating, which personally, I think it more comfortable than the leather converter seating, but that is just me.

I would hope, if the company are going to keep these aircraft for any further length of time, then these aircraft will have some major cabin re-fit work...

Yes, they have the old heavy clunky CRT monitors in the aisle ceiling. They do work, most of the time, but do regularly have times of huffyness and decide not to work.

There are many many little things to be known about the short haul 767, there is a thread or two on here, Moscow and Larnaca, which feature many of them!

That is what I suspected. But just seems pretty barmy that you would refit new seats in over half the aircraft including most ET - and then just not bother with the rear of the aircraft. I assume it was probably done at a time when they tought these birds only had a few years left.

Yes, and as with other aircraft types, they have ended up staying longer than planned, having their service life extended.

The old ET seating, cloth, are really starting to show a lot of ware and tare now, but i would have thought that when they re-fitted the forward and mid cabins, the aft cabin was still in reasonable nick, so not much need seen to re-fit that too... Now, of course, it is a different story, and they are in dire need of new seating.

The entertainment system has been rumored to be replaced, and has been doing the rounds for some time. The components to fix the current system are no longer in production, so if BA wish to offer some form of IFE on these aircraft, then they will have to do something to replace the system, with something similar to the system used on the Airbus, but with larger screens.

The CE seats have been leather since way back when - longer that I can remember. If a part of the cabin can be CE then it will have leather. Rear parts of the cabin which will only be ET will be cloth.

Same on Airbuses I think.

Also on an Airbus the first 8 rows (again potential CE) will have a 34" pitch.
