T4 lounges mid day - always this busy?
Hi all
It’s very rare for me to fly out of LHR mid day.
It’s usually early morning or late at night.
Gate 1 always seems to be much less crowded and more pleasant then the Gate 10 terrace lounge.
Walked into gate 1, and hardly a seat to be found, not a single magazine available, and all in all not very relaxing at all!
Moved from there to the Concord room.
Well, it’s not much better here, very crowded, and people being extra noisy on their phones…
So, is it always like this at this time of the day?

Why is the Gate 10 Terraces closed?
I always go to the Gate 1 Terraces as I much prefer it in there and am not a fan of the F Lounge.
Rarely seem to fly longhaul from T4 and if I do its normally an evening flight meaning a rush from the office to the airport, normally negating the need to head to the Gate 10 lounges for a Spa appointment first.
As a side note, on the pushback from Gate 17 (IIRC) to GVA the other night I saw the Hollideck lounge from the outside. Looks nice, any of the regulars here use it?
I assume its a Priority Pass lounge?

However they changed it around a bit last time I was in (2005 I think) - there used to be a bar on the first floor (with great views) that was adults only. Always (IME) very quiet but then they swapped, putting the adults bit at the back on the ground floor.

Yes it is the T4 Priority Pass lounge, also open to the public for about 18quid a go. Wonderful views over (I think 27L?) the runway, and not normally too crowded. Food is lacking compared to the Terraces, drink selection seemed about the same. I used it in the days before the silver card and was pretty satisfied. They used to have a glass viewing terrace on the very top floor that had ATC piped in over the speakers. Not sure if this bit is still open.

It has been closed for a few days now...trying to find out thru contacts if this is a permanent closure - I have that sneaking suspicion it is so AF / Skyteam will have something branded and ready to roll once they move in!
