Question regarding 2500 tier point upgrade qualification

Last year, in a year ending in February 2005, I only qualified for Silver membership. My international travel picked up in 2005, and between February 2005 and September 2005, I earned 1620 tier points and earned Gold membership. BA "reset" the tier points at that time, and changed my qualification year to October 2005 through October 2006. From September to December 2005, I earned an additional 1040 Tier Points.

As I earned 2660 tier points in my original qualification year, I inquired by email about the 2500 tier point upgrade certificate. BA now informs me that the 2500 tier point level must be reached in my current qualification year. I am not sure how to do that if BA keeps changing the qualification year when I reach 1500 tier points.

Is BA correct, or should I pursue this issue to a higher level in the BA organization? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes - they're right (and I'm sure someone will reply quicker than me!)

Basically, the 2500 is for Golds. When you're Gold, you can earn as many points as you can in your membership year - they won't get reset til the end of your membership year.

(That's why they're referred to as the Gold Upgrade for Two certificates)

I thought as a gold your membership year started again when you reached 1500 points ?

So from blue, get your 600 - upped to silver, year reset. If you get 1500 inside that year, upped to gold, year reset?

Then it's a case of getting 1500 (or 600 if you didn't get upgraded) inside the year or down you go?

What Teece said. It is 2500 tier points in your membership year, from whenever that starts.

I wouldn't worry. Since they have been "enhanced" to book only in redemption classes, they're about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Thanks for the response--

--especially from the Saint. This really resolves the issue of how much time to put into this matter.

Never mind the 2500 one which is easy to get, I'm more concerned with the 3500 TP one, has it gone forever?

Did we not resolve that? Looking at the website, I see that both the GUF2 at 3500 and the Additional Silver Card at 4500 have been "enhanced" out of existence. Do we still have contact with Lyndsey? Haven't seen her post for a while.

"enhanced" out of existence...I like that statement as it applies to many FFPs nowadays.

How annoying - I really cannot understand what they have gained by removing that - surely not that many people were reaching 3500TP's - surely not hundreds of thousands of people!!!!
