Just got two First Anya H. bags which had an extra piece of picture cloth sewn on top. The pictures are in black and white. One of them has a picture of an old BOAC plane. The other has a picture of a lady sitting in a plane back back in the BOAC days.

The pictures match the cover of the small booklet you get which tells you what is inside the bag.

Also, the A.H. logo is printed in red on in the black and white picture. The things inside are the same though.

I actually quite like the modified look! If anyone is interested, I could take a digital picture of it later and send it to you. (Unfortunately, don't have a web site to post it.)

What are the colours of this series of cases? I assume the male ones [aircraft photo] and the female ones [women seated] are different colours. Since I shall be flying BA First on Wednesday evening, no need to email a photo. But thanks for the update.

Is it really just sewed on? Does it look professional? Fi I am thinkg of the BAg you are talking about it might be sort of hard becuase isn't there a cardboard thing in the top zipper flap?

Yes, is the colour scheme the same?

I have never asked for both a male (me) AND females BAg. I am alswyas just present with a amel BAg becuase I am male. I would like the female BAg becuase it might have some interesting stuff. (I like to experiment) Do they always have extra of them, not knowing whether there are more male of female passengers when they cater the flight?

It definitely looks like it is sewn on. I am not sure how they did it but it does look professional. Both bags are black, or at least it looks like that. It used to be hard to tell the dark blue and black bags apart.

In terms of getting an extra female bag, most times I have seen them give you an extra one if you ask AFTER they have given it out to everyone else in case they run out. Not sure if your status has anything to do with them being generous with the bags.

Usually if the FA remembers my face I will get 2 without asking, otherwise I just ask for the female bag and say I already have enough male bags, I usually bring my own stuff anyway, the BAg's are pretty nice gifts and certaing folks at home insist on getting one when I return...

My experience is similar to that of ScottC. I have about a half dozen of the male bags in various colours, and started asking if I could get female ones instead. They make great gifts for female relatives, friends, staff, etc. The FAs are happy to give me one, and never ask for the male one back [though I have handed it back on occassion]. Don't think it has anything to do with status.

When in first, status is irrelevant I think

I received two of the new Anya Hindmarsh BAg's on a recent flight. I think they are very cool, quite retro in quite a British way (MHO).

As to how it's made, the fabric is the same type as the solid colour used on the other sides of the BAg. The picture is printed. The BAg is constructed in the same way as the old ones.

I think the BAg's are one of the great things about First. They make wonderful gifts, the products change quite frequently and I like the seasonality aspect (used to be different colours depending on season, I believe that they will be using different pictures in the future). Sort of thing that could become quite collectible.

On another note, have you all seen the new Club World amenity kits? A definite improvement on the old ones, both in terms of products and style of bag.
