Killing time in T5 Flounge, watching old BA ads

32 seconds in - the shot also corresponds to my exact view
Just a happy moment to share

As I commented some years ago, given the cash components on some BA Avios redemptions, BA's motto these days should be, "To Fly, To Surcharge."

At least you can still fly on the Queen for a little while. Just not with the BA livery.

I love that advert. It's one of my all-time favourites.

I read somewhere the other planes do a 'missing man' formation for Concorde at the end. Which feels like people reading something into it that isn't quite there. But I like the sentiment.

Just magnificent. So beautifully done. The BOAC Speedbird livery from the 1960s was a design masterpiece. The only thing missing from this ad is a glorious glimpse of an Imperial Airways' Handley Page HP42. Or a Short Solent flying boat!

Hells bells! That something in pmcbeagle's eye has now gotten into mine.
