if LHR-TLV is full the day, are there options via LHR-AMS/CDG/-TLV?

Please find me a reasonable alternative! It doesn't even have to be reasonable! From what I can see there are 3 airlines consistently flying into TLV. Ethiopian, flydubai and Elal. ElAl sold out till November. So if you have a better option please do let me know!

A bit off topic, but why do BA persist in flying to TLV? Is it that much of a money spinner? Wouldn't they be better doing what VS have done and just cancel the route for the foreseeable future, and leave to it El Al?
The stop / start nature of the route must cost BA a fortune in re-booking and duty of care costs.

ElAl is sold out of every single European city. There are no alternatives

I am sure there is an alternative to go on a ba LCA flight and connect on from there.
edit: also have you spoken to ba to see what they can offer?

By way of understatement, the current situation is rather fluid.
In your situation, I probably wouldn't have gambled on the Virgin option when you made the change a few weeks ago. I would have put myself on LY and hoped for the best. But what is done, is done.
If it were me, I would cancel the BA ticket, get a refund, and set about finding the best (or least worst) option. At the moment, I think things are going to get worse before they get better in October. Good luck.

Well there are ba flights those days with availability. Obviously they may be cancelled tho.
also options to go to LCA and connect from there. Ba will rebook you to LCA. Not sure whether they will or can offer the onward flights to TLV, but if you booked that LCA-TLV flight yourself I think you would have a good chance of claiming that cost back.

The BA ticket is a reward ticket so I'm not to sure if there is any value in cancelling it. I think I'm better off trying to find any plausible rebooking option

Correct the BA flights are available but there's no point rebooking that which will inevitably get cancelled. Getting to LCA is easy, the hard part is onwards. No availability on ElAl and the other airlines, wizz, tus etc havent been so reliable. Hence why I'm trying to see if getting rebooked on the only airline that's reliable and has availability (EK) is possible, if not LCA gamble is probably the best bet
edit: and I would add, call ba and see what they say first of all. You are not obliged to accept what they offer, but they may give you some other options.

Rebooking onto a BA flight that's likely to be cancelled isn't a necessarily bad thing to do. Firstly it gets you a seat to TLV if the service runs (otherwise I'd just say do nothing at all right now). And then it kicks the re-routing down the road to a time when there is more certainty about what will happen. The situation is very fluid.
I'm just weighing up a trip end of October to Amman; one of the flights has been retimed but I'm not in any hurry at all to deal with that or cancel it.

There are multiple airlines flying several times daily between LCA-TLV. Just look at the Larnaca Airport site. If you look at one of them (Cypriot airline TusAir), there are flights available almost every day (up to 4-daily, starting from EUR81).
