Upgrade IB-coded, IB-ticketed, BA-operated flights with Avios?

Upgrade IB-coded, IB-ticketed, BA-operated flights with Avios?
I feel like I should know this, but:
I'm looking at an ARN-LON-NYC WT+ fare, which is only pricing up on Matrix under IB codes, despite the whole journey being on BA metal. There's availability on the return TATL to upgrade to CW.
I'm guessing that unless I can create the fare on a BA ticket, I can't do this, but what about if I transferred the avios to an IB account?

Even if the ticket was issued on BA paper you'd still not be able to upgrade as you can't upgrade codeshare flights through BAEC.
Regarding upgrading through IB - best asked on their forum.
Wanted to add - I don't know what your dates are but I just checked a few dates and both BA and IB have identical fares on the ARN-NYC route. Call BA and see if its price matches that of IB you see on Matrix?
